Subject: USS Henry Clay SSB-625

My father, Robert W. Southard, was on the commisioning
crew of the USS Henry Clay. He was a member of the
Gold Team. I believe he would have been a PO1 at the
time, but I am not sure. Also he would have worked in
the torpedo room I do believe. His last duty station
prior to retirement in 1970 was the Charleston Naval
Weapons Station, Goose Creek, SC. He retired as a MT
PO1. While at the CWS he worked on the Polaris
Missiles. I am very proud of the work my father did in
the U. S. Navy.

He passed away of a massive heart attack on 11 April
2002.

Thank you if you can place him on the enteral patrol
list after you do any research to verify what I have
stated.

A grateful daughter,
Robin
